The brief was simple: our clients felt they had already explored the obvious cultural highlights and were looking for something more unusual, with a particular focus on wine.
We took them above Martigny to Plan Cerisier for a concentrated introduction to Valaisan viticulture, spending time with local growers and tasting wines that rarely travel beyond the region. The selection included Petite Arvine, Gamay, Syrah, Johannisberg and Fondant, each offering a distinct expression of Valais’ diverse terroirs.
Beyond the tasting itself, the discussion explored biodynamic practices and the importance of following rhythms and rituals passed down through generations. The experience also touched on the region’s emerging natural wine movement, including a beautifully fresh, lightly sparkling rosé pét‑nat that brought a modern perspective to traditional vineyards.
