A Verbier Marriage Proposal – From an Instagram Dream to a Real-Life Moment
He first discovered us on Instagram, where he’d seen one of our signature glacier snow picnic proposals. Complete with carved snow seating, breathtaking mountain views, champagne, beautiful styling and a private chef, it was exactly how he imagined proposing.
There was just one challenge.
The proposal he had fallen in love with involved helicopter logistics and a private chef, both of which were beyond his budget. Rather than compromising on the dream, we looked for ways to recreate the feeling of the experience while keeping costs under control.
Reimagining the Experience
After carefully scouting locations, we selected a secluded viewpoint overlooking one of Verbier’s most spectacular mountain panoramas. While it wasn’t the glacier picnic setting he’d originally seen on Instagram, it still captured the majesty of the Grand Combin range and the sense of adventure he had fallen in love with.
Before the couple arrived, a member of our team transported our signature styling pieces to the location. Soft furs, comfortable cushions, rose petals and our silver deer transformed the mountainside into a romantic proposal setting. A bottle of champagne, kept perfectly chilled with ice sourced from a nearby mountain restaurant, completed the scene.
Meanwhile, photographer Graham Friend was discreetly hidden amongst the trees, ready to capture the proposal without giving away the surprise.
The couple hiked to the location from their hotel, completely unaware of what awaited them.
The Moment She Said Yes
As they arrived at the viewpoint and took in the scenery, he got down on one knee and proposed.
She said yes.
Every reaction, smile and emotion was beautifully captured before the couple continued their celebration with lunch at a nearby mountain restaurant. Afterwards, they headed to La Chaux with their photographer for engagement photos amongst some of Verbier’s most spectacular mountain scenery.
The Detail They Never Expected
One of our favourite moments came later.
Knowing they would be returning to W Verbier after their adventure, we quietly contacted the hotel team beforehand and asked them to prepare a surprise congratulations setup in the couple’s room.
It wasn’t something the client had requested, and it wasn’t something we charged for. It was simply a thoughtful detail that we knew would make their engagement feel even more special.
When they returned and discovered the surprise waiting for them, it became one of the highlights of the day.

Creating unforgettable experiences isn’t always about having the biggest budget. Sometimes it’s about creativity, local knowledge, attention to detail and caring enough to add the touches nobody expects.
He thought he couldn’t afford the proposal he’d fallen in love with.
We simply found another way to make it happen.
